Why “Laika”?
The name honours a brave little dog who made history — and reminds us how much dogs give us, and how carefully they deserve to be treated.
Laika was a stray dog from the streets of Moscow who, in 1957, became the first living Earth-born creature to orbit the planet aboard Sputnik 2. Her journey helped open the space age — and it is also a story that prompts serious reflection on animal welfare and how society uses animals in pursuit of progress.
We chose the name as a nod to that pioneering spirit: curiosity, courage, and the bond between people and dogs — while committing to training and care that is ethical, transparent, and always centred on the dog in front of us.
